Training Resources
Team training follows the ARRL ARES Standardized Training Plan for Emergency Communicators. Team members need to download and initiate their own copy of the ARES Emergency Communicator Individual Task Book, and begin working on the required tasks. As courses are completed and skills are mastered, team members should document their progress in the task book, and have completed tasks signed off by the EC or DEC. All team members are required to achieve Skill Level 2 (Intermediate) within one year of joining ARES. In addition, team members should regularly review and practice completed tasks to keep their skills current.
Additional local training requirements and skills may be added to the Task Book based on the needs of our served agencies.
CERT Training is strongly recommended for all ARES members.
